Top 5 Boat rides around Banderas Bay

One of the largest and most beautiful bays around the world, is definitely the Banderas Bay, a very remarkable geographic feature on the Mexican Pacific which hides terrific beaches most likely reachable by boat, let’s check them out!

  1. Colomitos Beach

Tiny and jewel-like, this pristine beach is pure pleasure to float around in. The sand beach is surrounded by cliffs, so it’s quiet and private. Just five minutes by “panga” from Boca de Tomatlan, the beach is right beside one of the best restaurants in the area, the Ocean Grill. You have to book in advance to dine here but the food is excellent and the ocean views are magical. If you’d rather get some exercise, you can take a 40-minute and fairly aggressive hike to this cove.

  1. Yelapa Beach

About a 30-minute boat ride from Boca de Tomatlan is this isolated fishing village with a superb beach. You can hike into the mountains to a waterfall or go horseback riding, as well as enjoy the usual water sports. But the real attraction is the pie ladies, who sell fresh and delicious pies by the slice to hungry beachgoers.

  1. Pizota Beach

Pizota is a small, quaint beach that you can only access by boat, if you book the “Sea Safari” tour by Vallarta Adventures, you’ll end up snorkeling here, as well as, eating a great meal and relaxing for a bit. The snorkeling here is great, you’ll see various types of fish, manta rays & dolphins. There are crabs jumping from rock to rock, which is pretty entertaining. Overall it’s a picturesque beach, great for romantic photos and to just think about life outside your usual 9 to 5 and the daily grind of life.

  1. Careyeros Beach

Located on the northern-most point of the bay, in the Riviera Nayarit part, with soft white and golden sand, incredible views, tranquil setting and above all, privacy. You can launch a boat here easily. Go boating, fishing and skiing, tie it up in front of the house. When finished, you have plenty of room to park the boat & trailer.Perfect for family vacations and getaways, very private and quiet, but still close enough to know your neighbors.

  1. Majahuitas Beach

Majahuitas beach is next to the Tuito jungle, between the town of Quimixto and the fishing village of Yelapa, so you will not only find fish of all colors, but also a large number of birds that fly over the site constantly. It is also rich in palm trees and all kinds of wildlife. Majahuitas Beach is the place par excellence if you desire to just turn off your cell phone, forget about the clock and completely disconnect from it all – except nature and relaxation, of course.
